With the announcement of our new space in Minneapolis, we are introducing new membership plans. Most of these plans are now possible because of the fact that the Grain Exchange trading floor is one big contiguous space. With these new plans we have also increased our pricing to reflect a new level of service and amenities (such as Steelcase furniture).
New plans
We’ve added two new Individual plans:
- Full-time coworking with a dedicated desk ($350/mo)
- Student membership ($25/mo.)
We’ve added several Group plans for small businesses and work teams:
- Small Campsite – a fully-furnished work setting for up to 4 people ($900/mo)
- Medium Campsite – a fully-furnished work setting for up to 6 people ($1,200/mo.)
- Large Campsite – a fully-furnished work setting for up to 10 people ($1,500/mo.)
We’ve also added a Corporate membership for larger organizations that want to send individuals or teams to CoCo.
Until July 5 July 12, 2011 – you can lock in current pricing for 6-months!
We wanted to give new members an incentive to sign up sooner than later and at the same time help current members transition to the new rates.
- New members – if you register for a plan before July 5, you’ll pay current rates for the next 6 months. Please note that a one-time registration fee is required ($50 or $150 depending on your plan).
- Current members – You can lock in current pricing by making a 6 month commitment. We will collect the same registration fee, but it will be applied as a credit towards your next membership payment.
If you take advantage of this limited time offer, your membership pricing will be as follows:
- Part Time – $30/mo.
- Full Time – $150/mo.
- Full Time with dedicated desk – $250/mo.
- Small Campsite (equivalent to a colocation bay in St. Paul) – $750/mo.
- Medium Campsite (Mpls only) – $1000/mo.
- Large Campsite (Mpls only) – $1,250/mo.
Please visit our membership pages to learn more about membership types and to register.

Hi-
I was wondering what the criteria for qualifying for the “student” were? I am taking a few classes, but was interested in seeing if I qualified. Thanks!
I was seriously considering joining, because of the flexibility (i.e. no real commitment) and the pricing. Now, with the price increase, the six-month commitment and the non-refundable fee (for what?), it’s not really worth it and I’m going to think of something else to do.
Chris, we haven’t done this before, but we were thinking that a current student ID would do the trick. If you have some other evidence of your student status, I’m sure that’ll work, too. Look forward to seeing you in July!
Pamela, sorry that won’t work out for you. We feel the pricing is worth it, given the space, the quality of the work environment and (this is the part you can’t know until you show up) the type of people who you get to network with (mentors, prospective clients, partners, employers, etc.). I don’t know what field you’re in and what you’re looking for, but I can tell you that we have a handful of companies and small biz owners locating in CoCo specifically to recruit freelance talent and full-time employees. So, there are some serious opportunities to be had. That, in my mind, is what makes the pricing worthwhile. The 6-month commitment piece has more to do with evening out cash flow so that we can stay in business. It also has the effect of weeding out the less committed. There’s something about making a commitment to your business or freelance practice – buying equipment, attending an important conference or getting office space – that sends a message to yourself and others that you’re all in. But I realize that’s not everyone’s style.
Finally, regarding the registration fee, we do have some administrative work that spikes at the front-end of bringing on a new member. Hence the fee.
I may not have convinced you, but I felt you deserved a reply. If you still want to work at a coworking space, I’d point out that there are two other coworking spaces in town that have a great reputation.
Love repurposed building! Good luck!
So if we register now, it is $150/month for individual plans, after July 5 it is $250?
Is there reasonably priced parking around the new Mpls site?
Hi, CoCo team! Will the memberships allow us to use both the Minneapolis and St. Paul locations? I’m looking into locking in a part-time membership before July 5 to enjoy the price break, and having both locations available will definitely be the deciding factor. Thanks much!

@Longbranch: Thank you! Old architecture is great, isn’t it?
@Eric That is correct.
@Ann There are surface lots on the next block (in the direction of the Metrodome) that cost $5/day or less with a monthly contract. There are even cheaper lots as you go further toward the Metrodome. Finally, we’re finalizing the details on a fund that will allow us to subsidize parking for qualified entrepreneurs…
@Jennifer: For sure. You can visit either location as you wish.
