Another stellar class of Skywalkers

Another stellar class of Skywalkers

Wednesday was the culmination of Project Skyway’s 2nd class. In front of investors and many accomplished local entrepreneurs, the “skywalkers” stepped into the spotlight and made the case for further support and funding for their startups.

Thanks to three months of mentoring, hard work and a little pitch coaching from Guthrie actor Chris Carlson, the presentations were concise and compelling.

Below are the graduating businesses:

  • PoliticalHarmony An online tool that helps voters choose the right candidates and also serves as a marketing platform for campaigns to reach hard-to-poll voters. Entrepreneurs: Kyle WelliverTyler Kent.
  • QuadROI WestLaw for the energy space. The only aggregator of data from thousands of fragmented reports into one central database that can be accessed by consultants, agencies, and companies that require current info on regional energy programs. Entrepreneur: Mark Brown.
  • HypeSpark Endorse your favorite brands via social media and earn rewards and freebies. Entrepreneurs: Peter KostkaMatthew LeaAndre Gagnon .
  • YumZing Yelp for menu items, not just the restaurant. Consumers discover and share the best dishes, coffees, and drinks in town while restaurants can promote the menu items that they want to be best known for. Entrepreneur: Jolina Li.

We not only wish them tremendous success, but want to thank them for bringing such pure and honest energy to CoCo!

See Cem and Casey talk about their selections on TECHdotMN TV.

If this new class is anything like the previous, we’re all in for three months of high energy and hustle as we watch these ambitious entrepreneurs try to get their businesses from 0-60 MPH.

What a party!

What a party!

Wow. That was fun! The launch party for Project Skyway and CoCo Minneapolis was a huge success. By our count, we had more than 300 people visit over the course of the night. If you were able to make it, thank you. If not, don’t worry. This won’t be the last time we throw a party.

Below are some images that our guests captured at the party…

…as well as a video produced by the Minnov8 podcast gang. (Please forgive the cheesy preview image!)
