Last week we put out a call for suggestions for new events and meetups. In addition to a couple of serious suggestions, the ever-opinionated Garrick VanBuren offered,
“How about I come in and just rant for 45 minutes? It could be the start of an ongoing series called: Soapbox.”
What a brilliant idea, and one definitely worth giving a try!
So, here’s how it works. Come by for lunch on Friday. We’ll take up a little collection and order some pizzas. We’ll have 3 ranters. Each one gets a 1/2 hour to pontificate on any subject they choose. We assume ranters will pick reasonably intelligent subjects, but who knows?
For Aug. 27, we’ve got the following ranters lined up:
- Garrick VanBuren (it’s his idea after all)
- Patrick Rhone
- Nancy Lyons The Unknown Ranter (actually, we don’t have someone lined up for this slot yet. Interested? Let us know!)
Attendance is free with a Social ($30/mo.) or other membership.
